- Open a Document in Google Docs
- Open a document using Google Docs in a Chrome browser.
- Click on Tools and then Voice Typing.
- A microphone icon will appear. Click on the microphone to start dictating clearly.
- Click on the microphone again to finish dictation.
Step 1: Turn On Your Microphone
- Consult your computer manual.
- Adjust the microphone settings in System Preferences or Control Panel.
Step 2: Using Voice Typing
- Voice commands, available only in English, can be used to modify the document.
- Say "Stop listening" to stop dictation.
- On Android, say "Hey Google, open Assistant settings".
- Ensure that Google Assistant and "Hey Google" are enabled.
- Follow the instructions to set up Voice Match.
Why Can’t I Activate Voice Typing?
- Make sure your microphone is enabled in Settings, Languages & Input.
- Activate Google Voice Typing.
- Use the microphone icon to dictate.
Google Voice Search Not Working?
- Ensure Google Assistant, Hey Google, and Voice Match are active.
- Check that your device is connected to the Internet and the microphone is enabled.
How to Access Google Voice?
- Open the Voice app on Android.
- Tap on your profile picture to switch accounts.
Where Are Google Assistant Settings Located?
- Open the Google app.
- Tap on your profile icon > Settings > Voice > Voice Match.
- Enable Hey Google.

- Disable Hey Google.
