    To read a text file, you can use the ReadLine<\/strong> method that advances the file pointer. The StreamReader<\/strong> class reads the text file. When ReadLine<\/strong> returns a null reference, it signifies the end of the file. Similarly, StreamWriter<\/strong> class allows you to write to and close a text file. By using the file path in the StreamWriter<\/strong> or StreamReader<\/strong> constructor, the file opens automatically. Writing a complete line is done with WriteLine<\/strong>, while Write<\/strong> writes character by character without adding a carriage return or newline. In a specific case, opening in Append mode requires passing ‘true’ as the second parameter.<\/p>\n

    Various programs like Windows Notepad, Open Office, Excel, and image viewers like Windows Photos are available. For music and videos, VLC Media Player or JetAudio Media Player Basic are good options. Browsing websites can be done through Chrome, Firefox, or Opera. Image editing software like Psd Viewer, Irfanview, or Photoshop can also be used. For ebooks, Calibre or Sumatra are free options.<\/p>\n

    Navigate to "System Settings," choose "Applications," then go to the "All" tab. Select the default application you wish to change. Use the "Clear default actions" button. Changing a default action may require installing or uninstalling competing applications.<\/p>\n

    Right-click on the file, choose Properties, then go to the Open with tab. Select the desired application and click Set as default. For more choices, select Open with another application and determine the desired application from all the applications on your computer.<\/p>\n

    To read a line, use fgets<\/strong> and puts<\/strong> to display it. For character-by-character reading, appropriate functions are fgetc<\/strong> and putchar<\/strong>. A file is processed line by line, with each fgets<\/strong> call advancing the pointer.<\/p>\n

    A file always has a name, a three-letter extension preceded by a dot, and an icon. The extension indicates the file type and the required app to open it. File names can be changed, but altering an extension without understanding its implications may render the file unusable.<\/p>\n
